Mike Prickett
Director, DP + Executive Producer
Prickett is known as the extreme director of photography from the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. He’s been shooting for over 30 years in ridiculously dangerous locations worldwide yet he’s probably best recognized for his action cinematography in feature films, commercials and television. He’s shot nearly every ocean in the world and has won many awards for his work. Mike’s work as a cinematographer or director of photography can be seen in feature films such as Point Break 2, Chasing Mavericks, Billabong Odyssey, X Men 2, Riding Giants, Step Into Liquid, Blue Horizon, The Ride, Day of Days, Red Sky Morning, and the list goes on. He also works with all the major television networks like NBC, CBS, ABC, National Geographic, BBC, Learning Channel, Fox Sports, ESPN, etc. In addition to Triple Crown of Surfing, he also shot the Super Bowl commercial for Anheuser Busch, and national spots for Nissan and Lexus.
Josh Quick
Production Engineer, ShotOver Tech, DP
“JQ” has more than 10 years of experience in feature, commercial, documentary and television production. We like to say that Josh is the solutions guy that just doesn’t take no for an answer because he believes there’s always a better way to get the shot and if there’s a way, he’ll find it! As a SHOTOVER technician, he’s an invaluable part of the Salt + Air team. Classically trained in Cinematography at The University of North Carolina School of the Arts, he’s an avid enthusiast who’s worked on such notable films as “The Hunger Games,” “Jurassic World,” “Jumanji,” and TV Series like, “Hawaii 5-0” and, “Magnum PI”.
Terry Ahue
2nd Unit Director, Stunt Coordinator
Terry is President of the Hawaiian Water Patrol, veteran North Shore lifeguard, Rescue Craft operator, stunt coordinator and actor. Having patrolled surf contests, overseen commercial shows, major films, being flown around the world to places like California, Japan, Thailand, France, and Australia in order to train other public-safety agencies in the art of personal watercraft rescue. Just imagine how many lives where helped and saved through the efforts of this man.
Brian Keaulana
2nd Unit Director, Stunt Coordinator
Brian is co-founder of the Hawaiian Water Patrol, a well known Hawaiian surfer, lifeguard, and waterman. He played himself in Baywatch: Hawaii and has provided invaluable support as a Second Unit Director and stunt coordinator in dozens of major motion pictures. He has extensive experience for water stunts.
Don King
Water Cinematographer
Don King is an American photographer, cinematographer, and film director. He is renowned worldwide for his photographic and cinematic images of ocean surface waves and surfing. Don was a high school sophomore the first time he sold a photograph. The purchaser was Surfing magazine, which used it on its cover. Born and raised in Hawaii, Don King lives on Oʻahu with his wife Julianne Yamamoto King and their sons Beau, Aukai and Dane.
Ryan Miyamoto
Director of Photography
Ryan is an accomplished Cinematographer, Director and Producer based in Los Angeles, California. He was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and found a passion for film through surf cinematography. He graduated from San Diego State University in 2010 with a degree in Television, Film and New Media. Ryan’s work can be seen on National Geographic, Discovery Channel, ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox Sports, ESPN, Disney and Red Bull Productions. Beyond cinematography, Miyamoto has worked as a 3-D assistant editor on Shrek and Shrek2, and as an underwater camera assistant for Chasing Mavericks and Point Break (2015). His Directorial debut Twinsters, premiered at SXSW 2015 and received the “Special Jury Recognition for Editing.” Current work includes NBC Sports Spartan Race 2016, NBC Sports Winter Dew Tour 2016, Fox Sports Titans of Mavericks 2016 and ESPN’s NBA Eastern Conference Finals.
Kelii Grace
Director of Photography, Editor
Award-Winning Director of Photography Kelii Grace has been dubbed a “Visual Translator” by his colleagues and clients. Keenly intuitive of client’s goals and a director’s vision, Kelii crafts his work with intention, substance and collaboration. Kelii has over a decade of experience shooting and editing commercial motion and still photo projects in North America and Japan. Experienced in all things RED and Arri, Kelii is also an experienced drone pilot and operator.
Warner Wacha
First AC and SHOTOVER Tech
Warner has a long history as a First camera assistant for TV shows such as Baywatch, Beyond The Break, Vans Triple Crown and Feature films such as Billabong Odyssey, The Punisher, Edward Scissorhands, Cocoon, Revenge of the Nerds, Flight of the Navigator and others. Having been Mike Prickett’s primary camera assistant, Warner’s expertise extends off land to water and aerial based film productions as well.
Will Wacha
First AC and SHOTOVER Tech
Will Wacha has extensive experience as 1st and 2nd Camera Assistant and also as a Digital Technician and Loader. Having worked on numerous TV shows and Features such as Pali Road, Aloha, Manu Up, The Fishing Club, The Haumana, Chasing Mavericks, The Short List, Paradise Broken, Dante’s Cove and others Will knows how to get the job done.
Abraham Williams
DP & Steadicam operator
Abraham is a Hawaii and Washington, DC based cinematographer, colorist, editor, and storyteller. He loves capturing images of people, their emotions, character, and telling their story. Abraham is fascinated by light, and how it can affect the way an audience feels about the person they’re watching on the screen. Whether it’s warm or cold, harsh or soft, light enables us to effectively portray a person’s feelings, their message and their story through a lens to the viewer. He is excited about producing beautiful, cinematic images through creative camera work and lighting, to tell powerful stories that touch and move the viewer in a special, unique way.
Prahlad Strickland
Production and Director of Photography
Savage. Solitary. Sexy. Sentimental. Smoldering. Prahlad is also an experienced audio engineer, sound recordist and production mixer. Having worked with Google, IBM, North Shore Land Trust, Facebook, CNN, Tumi Bags, Travel Channel, TLC Network, Vice News and a number of features, Prahlad’s expertise is second to none and he’s a great guy to have on set.
